Retirement is on the horizon. Are you living the life you want to live? Are the things you still want to do? It is not too late to start your bucket list! Today I will share my 10 steps for the perfect bucket list.
First Ideas Think about what you still want to achieve that you haven’t done already. Maybe you want to visit a new country or take up a new hobby. Write down everything you may want to achieve. It is always best to write down everything and narrow it down from there.
Trimming Your Ideas Now you have the basics of what you want to achieve, think of them all in more depth. How likely is it that you will be able to complete these? Is there anything holding you back? If things are holding you back, what are they and how can you overcome them. By discounting out some of the ones which you know are unlikely this will give you more hope to completing your bucket list.
Inspiration For the perfect bucket list do research. If you’re struggling for ideas, see if you can gain inspiration from other people, maybe you will find something better which you want to achieve that is more realistic. Research into different things you can do and how you can do them.
Planning Make sure you plan all of your ideas. The perfect bucket list needs the right amount of planning. You will need to know a set budget for each aspect and a set time frame. This will help you to ensure that each aspect of your bucket list is completed without much stress.
Family Getting your family involved can help you get the perfect bucket list. They might have ideas of things they would love to see you do, that you may not have thought about. They will help make creating your bucket list more enjoyable. The family will make sure you have the perfect bucket list that is suitable for you.
Step Six – Time Don’t rush making your bucket list or you may not be pleased with the outcome. You have time to sit down, think and research into everything. Taking your time will ensure you have the perfect bucket list that is entirely yours. No one comes up with a bucket list in a night. It doesn’t matter if you keep adding to it. That’s the beauty of bucket lists they can grow with you.
Step Seven – Top Three Make sure you choose your top three. If you have a top three which you want to achieve then you can ensure these are completed before worrying about the rest. Maybe you have three favourites, these are the ones to complete first. No one likes to rush to complete it. Take it three at a time and enjoy every moment of everyone.
Step Eight – Deciding Who Completing bucket lists are more fun with other people. Decide who you may want to take part in each activity or who you’ll want to spectate. Maybe you want to go on your first holiday abroad. Who do you want to go with, maybe your family so they can experience it too? Or maybe you want to go sky diving, who will be watching?
Step Nine – Prepare Yourself To ensure you have the perfect bucket list make sure you have written down ways in which you can prepare yourself. This could be items you need to take with you or meals you want to have before you go. Make sure everything is prepared and this will help everything to run smoother.
Step Ten – Have Fun! To make the perfect bucket list you need to make sure you are going to have fun! Don’t add something to your bucket list that you think is going to be boring. Do things for you and only you. Don’t listen to anyone else and do things that you think are fun.
Enjoy creating and completing your bucket lists, and remember to have fun! It is not just doing the fun activities, but the planning as well.
